In light of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's directives to the government to take a set of financial measures to mitigate the global economic repercussions, Major General Gamal Awad, chairman of the National Social Insurance Authority, confirmed that it was decided to spend a 13% pension increase starting from the first of April 2022, with a minimum of 120 pounds and a maximum of 1222 pounds
The chairman of the authority explained that 10.7 million citizens benefit from this increase at a cost of 3.8 billion pounds per month, and that the cost of early disbursement of the increase is 11.4 billion pounds for the months of April, May and June .
Awad pointed out that the annual cost of this increase is 38.4 billion pounds, so the value of pensions during the fiscal year 2022/2023 amounts to 321.5 billion pounds .
Awad added that the cases of pension entitlement during the period from 1/4/2022 to 30/6/2022 benefit from that increase as of the date of pension entitlement
